The Quiet Work Behind Building a Business and Finding My Next Chapter

After nearly four decades supporting executives and leading operations behind the scenes, I reached a season that required more of me than any previous role ever had.

My contractor contract ended in January 2026, and I began a focused job search while continuing to grow My Virtual Tender Touch (MVTT). What I thought would be a few months of applying and interviewing stretched into a longer season of waiting, refining, and trusting. The process was both professional and deeply personal. There were days of strong interviews and hopeful next steps, followed by silence. There were the quick “thank you for your interest” replies that closed the door almost immediately, and the slower declines that left me waiting weeks only to receive a polite but final no. Every morning began with prayer for clarity, wisdom, and open doors.

Through it all, I kept showing up—updating my website, refining my messaging, and consistently posting to social media—as a way of prompting both myself and my business forward. Building MVTT while searching for the right full-time opportunity taught me something important: the same systems, follow‑through, and quiet consistency I offer clients were the same disciplines that sustained me.

After months of searching, I recently stepped into a wonderful new remote opportunity that has opened the door for me to build a flexible, meaningful career from my home. I get to support clients across time zones and industries, grow my skills across platforms, and be part of a team that truly supports one another, all while staying present for my family and my four grandbabies who keep life joyful. It is clear to me that this role is part of what God designed for this season; I had to wait with patience and faith that it was being set up for me. I am doing work I love—supporting clients and leaders—while continuing to accept new opportunities through My Virtual Tender Touch alongside it. This next chapter does not replace the business I built; it expands the perspective and capacity I bring to it.

I am also mindful that I am entering a new season of life as I move closer to my sixties. Rather than slowing down, I remain committed to bringing decades of experience, a calm presence, and a deep belief that good operational support can lighten a leader’s load—both in my new endeavor and through the clients I continue to serve.
